August 2004 Archives
tomorrow is the beginning of a healthy stage in my life. lisa and i have decided that from the 1st sept 2004 we are going to start walking for an hour each day and stop eating junky foods....like burger rings, chocolate, icecream and and the other yummy foods.
it's going to be really tough, but mostly the getting up early to walk for an hour. we may as well just stay up all night.
i am pretty sure we'll still be going strong on the coffee, i don't believe lisa could ever give up coffee.
this weekend is adam and susan's engagement party. wow. i'm am the only one that's not engaged. damn hey - i don't really mind except that they get cool presents. i wish i got cool presents but i guess i'd have to get engaged soon and that won't be happening anytime soon.

erin [03:21 PM] Comments (1)i can't get my head around Fusion sending a bunch of people to Athens. it's costing so much money. wouldn't it be better to spend that money on recruting more Fusionites in Australia? or spending it on better spaces for the 'young people' to hang out after school in a safe environment? if i was donating money to Fusion i'd be pretty pissed off if it went towards giving someone a free trip to Athens....
i know that most people on the blogfeed probably support Fusions work - and that's cool, i used to as well... but with an outside perspective i see these things and just wonder....
back in the faithful days i thought Fusion were alright, i mean they do great things for young people, running festivals and the like but lets face it, they pretty exclusive in their ways as much as they think they aren't.
i had a friend that was doing work experience with Fusion in hornsby and as part of that she worked at the cafe some afternoons. it was all good until after she had finished and they found out she was gay. then they had the opinion that because she was gay she probably shouldn't have been in the cafe with the 'youth'. now that's just fucked up. just because someone is gay doesn't mean they are going to corrupt anyone, or that they have some sort of negative effect on things.
i could go on but i don't think most of you would really value my opinion that much... i mean i'm a dirty homosexual after all.
i'm at tafe and it's workshop week - that is why i am able to come to the library and blog, it's all very laid back.
I did a pin hole camera workshop for monday and tuesday while was good but i already knew how to do it all so i didn't feel like i was really learning anything new, except for using the 5x4 enlarger, but it's basically the same as the 35mm ones.
i took yesterday off, there were lectures on but sometimes you just don't feel like being around people so i went home and cleaned up a bit. i cleaned the kitchen and my room, and also did a couple of loads of washing. it's nice to have things tidy. i have decided that i'm going to go through my room and chuck away anything that i haven't used/needed/seen in more then three months. it will be a big and tough job but i think it's something i need to do.
oh, back to workshop week... Today and tomorrow i am doing a sun prints workshop, which is another photography one. it's a really cool method using a UV sensitive emulsion and any sort of thickish paper. you paint on the emulsion which is yellow and then place either a transperency with an image on it, objects or whatever you want really, and then take it out into the sun where the uv reacts with the emulsion. you leave it there for about 15minutes or until the emulsion goes a dark blue/grey and then take it back inside and wash the excess emulsion off. i'll post some pics of the results when i get a chance.
nobody else is here. seems funny that when i'm not here, which is alot, everyone else is here, but when i actually come home the house is empty.
i was going to watch a video so i pressed 'eject' on the video player. somebody had been watching porn and had left the video in there. it sort of put me off so i came online instead. it's not really not my place to say, although it is my video player, but i think if someboday uses it to watch porn they should at least take out the tape when they are finished.
i put some washing on. i don't know how long it takes so i'll have to go out and keep checking. i don't the thought of it finishing and then sitting all damp in the machine for a long time.
is that a ringing in my ear or an annoying computer noise?
lisa and i watched Roman Holiday last night. it's a great film, except Audrey's character sort of annoys me a bit. she's a bit spoilt and poncy. cute though, audrey always looks stunning.
