so i'm going to buy a car - i know nearly nothing about cars but here is some of the advice i have been given:
M - Get a Toyota, I've worked in the car industry and found that they are the best quality, all the others always have things wrong with them and their trims fall off.
L - Don't go through a car yard, go private.
G - watch out for milky, creamy oil and bubbles in the radiater when then car is going, those two things are bad signs. Rust, rust is bad.
R - I only buy cars from people i'd be willing to touch the hair of. It doesn't leave many.
My only insight into all this is that I know four people who have had Nissan Pulsars and think they're great. I think if i can find one within my budget then I will get on of them.
I did however look at a 91 suzuki swift this morning. It was ok except the guy said there was no rust and i saw some below one of the windows and he said it didn't blow smoke which when i saw it being driven, it did. It was only $1290 though.
Any more advice?
